It’s clear that the Steam Deck will remain the first choice for portable gaming fans for some time to come, especially considering the frequent discounts on the console that Valve now offers every 3-4 months. And if the 512GB version of the Steam Deck priced at $649 may face competition from the same ASUS ROG Ally based on the current AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor at $699 or a future version with a Ryzen Z1 processor will be exposed, then it will go on sale $100 cheaper, Valve’s $399 console option simply has no competition. Devices like ASUS ROG Ally or Lenovo Legion Go offer more advanced technical features, but are significantly more expensive. Steam Deck still has virtually no competitors in the $300-$400 portable console segment. However, Valve apparently sees no need for this. More than a year after the start of sales, many would like this price reduction to become permanent. To celebrate Steam’s 20th anniversary, Valve has reduced the price of these Steam Deck versions to $359.10, $449.96 and $519.20 respectively, offering discounts of 10%, 15% and 20%. The regular price of the Steam Deck console in a configuration with 64 GB of permanent storage is $399, for the version with 256 GB SSD the company charges $529 and for the version with 512 GB of permanent storage it is $649.
